Guiliang Tang, Ph.D, assistant professor of plant science at KTRCD, University of Kentucky, USA

Education: 1995-2000, Ph.D. The Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Israel.
Professional Experience: 2000-2005, Post-doctoral Fellow, University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA.
Honors and Awards:
2006: Research Activity Award, University of Kentucky
2003-2005: Charles A. King Trust Research Fellowship from The Medical Foundation at Boston
1997-2000: Leon and Kathe Fallek scholarship Award in Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Israel
1997: Fellowship of Distinction in Weizmann Institute of Sciences
Specialty: Gene Silencing (RNAi and microRNA in Plants and Animals) and Plant Biotechnology. Currently, Dr. Tang focuses on five general fields: (1) Plant and animal gene silencing, (2) miRNA bioinformatics, designing and experimental testing, (3) miRNA profiling, functions, and regulation of target gene expression, (4) Plant abiotic stresses, and (5) Plant natural products.
